Anmälan till SM görs via länken nedan. Startavgiften betalas i samband med anmälan. Observera att varje division har ett maxtak på 32 starter – först till kvarn gäller.

Kvällen bjuder på mingel, god mat, prisutdelning – och avslutas med pub. Observera att endast förköpta biljetter gäller, så se till att säkra din plats i tid!

Regler
Each team is allowed one anvil, one forge, and one vice.
Each team member must complete their own foot. It is not permitted to modify or work on your teammate’s hoof or shoe in any way.
Only one shoe at a time is allowed on the anvil or the vice.
However, it is permitted to lift the hoof and inspect your teammate’s work, and you are also allowed to act as a striker for your teammate.

The competition will be judged according to the British scoring system,
where the maximum score is 40 points for shoeing and 10 points for specimen shoes.

Alex Würsch, Switzerland
My name is Alex Würsch, I am 30 years old and I come from the geographical center of Switzerland. My father showed me his passion for the profession of farrier and so I wanted to learn it too. I completed my 4-year apprenticeship as a farrier in 2014. I then discovered the world and spent my work experience in several countries. The more I saw and the more farriers I got to know. By competing in different competitions, I maintain friendships and keep learning new things.
Since 2017 I have been part of the Swiss team and travel to competitions such as Horseshoeing Classics Kentucky, AFA Convention, Stoneleigh, European Championships, World Championships and smaller competitions. I have my own business, work one day a week in a horse clinic and regularly attend further training courses. I live in central Switzerland with my wife, dog and horse, who support me every day and have my back.
Jean Julien Remy, Belgium
Hello, my name is Jean-Julien Remy. I live in the south of Belgium on the Luxembourg border. I’ve been a farrier for 14 years now. My clientele is made up of horses of various disciplines. I took part in several competitions in Europe and also at the wcb. In 2024 I finished 17th at the Spruce Medow and in December I finished 9th at the European Championship in Spain. In farriery, I like to practice the basics a lot because I think it’s very important. I have a lot of admiration for several great champions of farriery. For me, Craig Trnka is the most incredible person I’ve ever met, because he’s not only a great farrier, but also a great person.
